Schneider seeks to ditch Common Core standards – “State Sen. Scott Schneider, R-Indianapolis, wants to ditch Common Core education standards, and says he plans to file a bill during the General Assembly’s upcoming session that would do just that.” Capitol Journal
New education chief Glenda Ritz wants a say in appeal of IPS court ruling – “For the first six months of the school year, the state withheld per-pupil funding for more than 1,800 students who attended the schools last year but didn’t show up to enroll after the takeover. State money taken from Gary schools for Roosevelt special ed students – “The State Board of Education ruled Wednesday that $176,939 will be diverted from the Gary Community School Corp.’s state funding to pay for special education services for students at the Roosevelt College and Career Academy, a privately run turnaround school.” Gary Post-Tribune
