$119M Question: FWCS Renovation Project on May Ballot | Indiana’s NewsCenter: News, Sports, Weather, Fort Wayne WPTA-TV, WISE-TV, CW, and MyFOX | Local Fort Wayne Community Schools urges community to vote in favor of the $119M building renovation that will be placed on the May 8 Primary Election ballot. There are 52 days until the big vote—the one that will determine if the Fort Wayne Community Schools (FWCS) building renovation project will happen. FWCS is placing the $119M question on the May 8 Primary ballot. FWCS Board members had to gather 100 signatures on a petition in order to make the project a referendum. Noblesville measles cases put Indy schools on alert Schools are on alert as efforts to keep the measles outbreak in Central Indiana under control go into high gear. But people are worried. Today, 29 students were vaccinated at a clinic at White River Elementary School in Noblesville. And the state’s largest school system, IPS, is taking precautions just in case. Indiana Bill Would Allow Schools To Punish Students For Off-Campus Behavior, Online Speech A bill that would allow schools to punish students for off-campus activities — even while at the mall on weekends — reached Indiana’s state Senate Committee on Education and Career Development Wednesday. The bill passed the state House Jan. 30. House Bill 1169, the Restoring School Discipline Act, would permit schools to suspend or expel students for engaging in activities away from school and after hours that “may reasonably be considered to be an interference with school purposes or an educational function.” (huffingtonpost.com)
