Charlie Hickox

Charlie HickoxCharlie Hickcox was a star on the Indiana University swim team in the late 1960s.

His honors include: NCAA Champion in 100-yard backstroke, 200-yard backstroke in 1967-68, 200-yard IM in 1968, five time All-American, member of the 1967-69 NCAA Championship team and 1967-69 Big Ten Championship team. Hickcox set eight world records within 16 months in 1967 and 1968.

In the 1968 Olympics in Mexico City, Hickcox won gold medals in the 200-meter individual medley, the 400-meter individual medley, and the 400-meter medley relay. That year he also won a silver medal in the 100-meter backstroke.
