More Companies Running Public Schools, But Non-Profit 'EMOs' Growing Faster

    We posted about a report tracking performance of the for-profit companies charged with taking over Indiana’s failing schools last week. HechingerEd takes another (more visual) look at the report:

    “Educational management organizations (EMOs), private groups that contract to run public schools, have steadily increased in number over the past decade… While growth in the for-profit sector seems to be leveling off, the nonprofit EMOs show no signs of slowing down growth.”
