They are, after almost 12 years, challenging a 24 year incumbent assessor. None of the city races are up for election this year, but this office is. This office is also unique in the sense that the legislature has protected the incumbents by setting the bar higher for challengers to run for assessor. This seems to get no media comments. It gets no coverage. People seem to accept it.
Shouldn’t there be more concern over an office that has state mandated roadblocks than offices that just have trouble finding people to challenge them?
