John Jay Center FOR LEARNING

The Art Deco Weiler Brothers Department Store building in Portland was built in 1926. The store closed in the early 1980s and then fell into disrepair. It has now been renovated as the John Jay Center for Learning and remains a cornerstone of downtown Portland. It has sparked the renovation of other structures in the immediate area, helping to revitalize a portion of the downtown.
