Singer-songwriter Kenny White

I never really thought that [writing and composing commercials] was going to be a vocation for me. I never had any inkling; I never had any desire to do it. But thinking back, in retrospect, I really knew every commercial that was on TV, and was totally hooked on them. So maybe it was a natural progression.

For many years a fixture in the New York City studio scene, Kenny White wrote and produced hundreds of TV and radio commercials. In that capacity he worked with artists such as Gladys Knight, Linda Ronstadt, and Ricky Skaggs.

White produced Shawn Colvin's Grammy-nominated album I Don't Know Why, Marc Cohn's eponymous platinum debut record, and co-produced three records for J. Geils Band leader Peter Wolf.

As a contributing writer-musician, White worked on the scores for several movies, including Message in a Bottle and four films by John Sayles.

Over the last decade he has been dedicating himself to writing and performing his own solo music and has produced four albums.
