Yasir Suleiman is a professor of Arabic studies at the University of Cambridge who has published extensively on the Arabic language and on the Arabic intellectual tradition.
His research covers the cultural politics of the Middle East with special focus on identity, conflict, diaspora studies, and modernization.
Suleiman's many published works include Arabic, Self and Identity. In June he was named a Commander of the Order of the British Empire.
