Photojournalist Stephen Ferry

Yaël Ksander interviews photojournalist Stephen Ferry, whose work concentrates on human rights, social and political conflict, and environmental conservation.

Stephen Ferry

The crimes against humanity that have taken place there, on the part of all these actors, are really on a very large scale. And so I thought it was my responsibility, as best I could as a journalist, to make all that clear.

Stephen Ferry’s photographs have been seen in such publications as The New Yorker, National Geographic, and The New York Times.

His books are I Am Rich Potosi, on silver miners of Bolivia; and Violentology, a product of ten years of photographic documentation in Columbia’s conflict zones.
