NPR National Political Correspondent Mara Liasson

Mara Liasson in light blue suit jacket

I really feel there is a place for straight-ahead, down-the-middle analytical reporting that’s not partisan, and I think that NPR strives to be that way. And I feel that I strive to be that way.

Mara Liasson’s reports are heard on NPR's All Things Considered and Morning Edition. She covers politics and policy from Washington, D.C., concentrating on the White House and Congress, and also reports on political trends beyond the Beltway.

In election years she covers the candidates and issues in presidential and congressional races, and during her NPR tenure she has covered six presidential elections.
