Two conversations about the Internet and cats.
First, Gena Asher interviews IU alumna Jessica Myrick, assistant professor at the Indiana University Media School and former journalist. Myrick's research examines the role of emotions in shaping audience reactions to health and environmental messages, the effect of interactive communication technologies, and civic engagement related to public health and environmental policies. Among other topics, she discusses her research on the emotional effects of cat videos viewed on the Internet.
Next, John Bailey speaks with Mike Bridavsky, caretaker of the celebrity cat Lil Bub. For the past ten years he has owned and operated the Bloomington recording studio Russian Recording, where he records, mixes, and masters records. He also plays guitar and bass in several touring bands.
