Noon Edition

Investigative Journalist Seymour Hersh

I’ve been a reporter for about fifty years. I’ve written about organized crime . . . corporate crime. I’ve dealt with mass murder in Vietnam, with criminals who were mass murderers, I’ve dealt with domestic crime. And in fifty years I have never met anybody who thought he did a thing wrong.

Seymour Hersh received a Pulitzer Prize for exposing the My Lai massacre and its cover-up during the Vietnam War. His 1983 book The Price of Power: Kissinger in the Nixon White House won him the National Book Critics Circle Award and the Los Angeles Times book prize in biography. He has also won two National Magazine Awards and is a five-time Polk winner and recipient of the 2004 George Orwell Award. His other books include The Dark Side of Camelot and Chain of Command: The Road from 9/11 to Abu Ghraib. In 1985, Hersh contributed to the PBS television documentary Buying the Bomb. Hersh appears regularly on the Democracy Now! radio program.
