A special Earth Day edition of Profiles features two interviews with noted authorities on sustainability.

Jonathan Bloom and Shahzeen Attari

Her research concentrates on the psychology of resource use, and identifies factors that promote resource conservation and sustainability. Her paper “Public Perceptions of Energy Consumption and Savings” was published in Proceedings of the National Academies of Sciences.

In the second half-hour Annie Corrigan interviews Jonathan Bloom, journalist, consultant, and creator of the blog Wasted Food. He is author of American Wasteland: How America Throws Away Nearly Half of Its Food (and What We Can Do about It). He has consulted on food waste reduction with the United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organization, Harvard Law School, and the Natural Resouces Defense Council.
