Comics Maven and Batman Producer Michael Uslan

I said ‘OK, what I want to do is bring to the silver screen that dark, serious Batman that the general population of the world does not know.' And if I had to define the mission specifically it would be that one day I would erase from the collective consciousness of the world culture those three little words: pow, zap, and wham.

Michael Uslan originated and executive-produced the Batman movie series, starting with the 1989 film through to 2008's The Dark Knight.

He has produced or been involved with numerous other movies, including The Spirit, Constantine, and National Treasure.

While attending Indiana University, he taught the world's first accredited college course on comics. His books include The Comic Book in America and America at War: A History of War Comics.
