Cate Whetzel has her M.F.A. from Indiana University. She taught poetry in Chicago as a Poet in Residence with the Poetry Center of Chicago, then followed up teaching at an independent high school in metro Detroit. Her poems have appeared in Crazyhorse, The National Poetry Review, Gargoyle Magazine, Damselfly Press, New South, The Louisville Review, and elsewhere. She creates museum programs and events for the T.C. Steele State Historic Site, a memorial dedicated to the American Impressionist and Hoosier Group painter in Nashville, Indiana. She lives in Bloomington with her husband, poet Ben Debus, and their children.
