The House Is A Wheel

Michelle Gottschlich reads "The House is a Wheel" and "Hammer."

"...I grip your arm across my lap, as I might a white bar when the wheel takes us up and over."

“But this hard work, let me tell you. He been there so long, he don’t want to budge. He threaten lightening, floods and earthquakes.
Us fight. I hardly pray at all. Every time I conjure up a rock, I throw it.”

– Alice Walker, The Color Purple

Michelle Gottschlich is a poet living in Bloomington, Indiana. She runs the monthly Second Sunday Poetry Open Mic, and her work has appeared in Poetry Quarterly, Canvas, Midwest Trash, and several local zines. Her first book Void Sets was published in 2015 by Monster House Press.
