Leslie Marie Aguilar originally hails from the heartland of Texas. She has served as the Poetry Editor of Indiana Review and received her MFA from Indiana University. She is the recipient of a National Society of Arts and Letters Chapter Career Award and the Washington Square Poetry Award.

Her poems have appeared or are forthcoming in Bellingham Review, Iron Horse Literary Review, Ninth Letter, Rattle, Spillway, and Southern Indiana Review among others. Her chapbook, Mesquite Manual, is forthcoming from New Delta Review. She is a Fine Arts Work Center fellow.
