The number of young adults living with a parent in Indiana has gone up significantly in the last 15 years - from 20.8 percent in 2000 to 27.2 percent between 2009 and 2013, according to census data.
It's a trend with heavy ties to rising college tuitions, but some suggest it has also coincided with-or perhaps caused-altered definitions of success and failure within the millennial generation.
This week on Noon Edition, we spoke with leaders and experts from around the state about these new financial and cultural trends.
Our guests:
- Teresa Lubbers, Commission for Higher Education in Indiana
- James Kennedy, Associate Vice President for University Student Services and Systems at Indiana University
- MaryFrances McCourt, Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer at Indiana University
- Timothy Bowman, Personal Finance Professor at Indiana Wesleyan University
Noon Edition airs every Friday at 12 p.m.
