The Science Behind Love

valentine's day

It’s easy to get caught up in the Valentine’s Day stress -- ordering flowers, making reservations or worrying about even having someone to celebrate the day with.

It’s easy to get caught up in the fuss around Valentine’s Day, but when you look past the chocolates and all of the pink and red, you’ll find something very complex at the center of it all: love. On this week’s Noon Edition we’ll look at the science behind love including what we want from it, how we choose our mates and the psychological and health factors that contribute to love.

Joining the discussion is Michael Reece, a professor and associate dean at the IU School of Public Health. His research focuses on sexuality and sexual health. Justin Garcia will also share his experience as a researcher at the Kinsey Institute and a scientific adviser for match.com. He recently conducted the annual match.com “Singles In America” study that looks at the dating behaviors of singles.

Join the discussion by following us on Twitter @NoonEdition or calling into the program at 812-855-0811 or toll free at t 877-285-9348.
