U.S. Postal Service Consolidation Plans

Postal Service Truck

The U.S. Postal Service has been making plans to consolidate some of its mail processing facilities as well as change its current overnight first class delivery to a 2 to 3 day service. The consolidations could affect mail processing centers in Bloomington, Columbus, Kokomo and Terre Haute. While the decision on consolidation has not yet been made, some residents are worried about a decrease in mail service quality and many postal workers fear losing their jobs.
