Notre Dame Case On Release Of Private School Police Records

Notre

ESPN sued the University of Notre Dame last year over whether private university police departments must comply with public records laws. It was announced this week that the Indiana Supreme Court will hear arguments in the case.

ESPN took the university to court after Notre Dame Security Police refused to hand over records examining how campus police interact with student athletes.

The university argues it doesn’t have to hand the records over because its police department doesn’t meet the definition of a public agency.

This week on Noon Edition we spoke with experts about the case. And we invite you to join the conversation—right after this hour’s news.
