Local Homeless Shelters and Food Banks Gear Up for Winter

Hoosier Hills Food Bank runs a prepared food rescue program to distribute fresh meals to area families.

As the holiday season begins and temperatures continue to drop, there are more reminders of the people in our community and throughout the state who do not have enough food to eat or a warm place to stay.

This week on Noon Edition, we spoke with the Executive Directors of Hoosier Hills Food Bank, Community Kitchen of Monroe County and Shalom Community Center. We'll also hear from the Chair of the United Campus Ministries Board in Terre Haute who helped establish a food pantry for college students.
