Legislators React To RFRA Backlash

Governor Mike Pence said he stands by the law, but hopes to clarify its meaning.

The debate over the so-called Religious Freedom Restoration Act didn’t end when Governor Mike Pence signed it into law last week.  The measure sparked outrage from across the country with organizations, businesses and celebrities calling for an Indiana boycott. The governor says he stands by his decision to sign the measure but hopes to clarify its true meaning, which is to ensure religious freedom to all Hoosiers. With four weeks left in the legislative session, legislators are now tasked with amending or clarifying the law before it goes into effect this summer. March 31, on a special edition of Noon Edition, legislators and legal experts will take your questions and explain the impact of RFRA and how it differs from similar legislation in other states. You can ask your questions by joining our live chat at WFIU.ORG/NoonEdition, following us on Twitter @NoonEdition or calling into the program at 812-855-0811. This episode of Noon Edition airs tomorrow at 12 p.m.
