Federal Government Shutdown In Effect

Capitol Building

Congress failed to agree to a budget Monday night, creating a partial shutdown of the federal government. Many federal workers in Indiana are receiving furloughs and some could have their pay delayed if the shutdown lasts long enough.

The deep split in Congress largely revolves around health care reform, and Indiana's Congressional delegation has mostly fallen along party lines.

This week on Noon Edition, we’ll take a look at Congress’ ability to reach a compromise and discuss how the shutdown will affect the state’s economy and residents.
