Noon Edition airs on Fridays at noon on WFIU.

Across the Indiana, COVID-19 hospitalizations, daily new cases, and positivity rates continue to climb.

On Tuesday the state reported 2,951 COVID-19 hospitalizations —the highest number ever.

Last week, Governor Eric Holcomb announced Indiana was no longer in stage 5 of his “Back On Track” plan to open the state.

He signed a new executive order with new COVID-10 restrictions. How the new restrictions are implemented depends on the color a county is designated on the state’s metrics map.

The health order relies on local and county health department to enforce new restrictions.

Monroe County remains “yellow” on state metrics, though the positivity rate is moving up.

This week, we will talk about rising COVID-19 numbers, upcoming holidays, and the new executive order.
