Little 500

Little 500 riders on the race track

The Little 500 is the largest and arguably most unique collegiate bike race in America.  Every spring the students at Indiana University in Bloomington gear up for the event, which is usually accompanied by week-long celebrations and parties leading up to the races.  This year police made a record 235 arrests.  While the races do raise money for scholarships the parties bring crowds and chaos.

This week on Noon Edition, we'll talk with the IU Student Foundation, law enforcement, and business owners to see what the Little 500 brings to the city of Bloomington.

You can join us for a live chat at WFIU.ORG/NoonEdition, follow us on Twitter at Noon Edition or call into the program at 812-855-0811.

Noon Edition airs Friday at 12 p.m.
