Sam Rivers Mosaic Set This November

Mosaic Records, a limited-edition jazz reissue company that has released numerous historically-significant box-sets over the past 27 years, will release a collection of Sam Rivers music this November. The music will be culled from private recordings that Rivers made at his Studio Rivbea loft in New York City during the 1970s.

Rivers announced the new release at a concert this past Friday, where Mosaic producer Michael Cuscuna confirmed it. It's especially appropriate for Cuscuna and Mosaic to be involved in this project, as Cuscuna produced the back-in-the-day sessions that gave us one of the best documents of New York's 1970s jazz-loft scene, Wildflowers, which was also recorded at Rivers' Rivbea space.
