Mosaic New-Release Info Now Up for Dave Liebman, Helen Merrill, More

Mosaic Records has posted information, including discographies, about new sets featuring Dave Liebman's Pendelum group and some Helen Merrill jazz-vocal sides on their upcoming releases page, along with more details about the forthcoming early-1950s Oscar Peterson collection. Along with the Ahmad Jamal, Benny Goodman, and Anthony Braxton sets that are on the way, it's looking to be an expensive year to be a Mosaic fan.

It's a perennial question for jazz lovers, but what Mosaic sets would you like to see issued? For me, many wishes have already come true, but I'd like to see an Ahmad Jamal followup that covered his late 1960s/early 1970s trio, a set devoted to the early-1960s Third Stream group Orchestra U.S.A. (listen for a small-group version of the ensemble in this week's Eric Dolphy program), a 1930s Duke Ellington big-band collection (this is supposedly in the works for next year), a late-1950s/early 1960s Jackie Paris overview, and some sort of anthology covering the better jazz sides from the early-1970s Groove Merchant label. That's just for starters...
