Zoning Board To Hear Request For Greencastle Detox Facility

Greencastle meeting

Greencastle’s zoning board is scheduled to hear a request tonight from Bloomington-based Indiana Center For Recovery.

The group is seeking a special exemption to convert a former assisted living facility into a short-term “in-patient medical detox facility.”

Most residents who attended a public meeting last week were not against having a drug recovery center in the community…but they worried about its proximity to a school and its potential effect on property values.

If the city approves the proposal, the center hopes to begin offering services this fall.
