Western Governor’s University Sees ‘Tremendous’ Growth

Indiana’s newest university is experiencing tremendous growth.  Western Governor’s University was established in June as an online competency-based university.  Its enrollment is about 600 students.  The school offers more than 50 accredited Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees.  Rather than earning degrees based on credit hours, students are required to demonstrate competency in degree subject matter.  University officials say the average graduate finishes their Bachelor’s degree in 2 1/2 years.
