Bloomington will be displaying some of its best restaurants this weekend during the 29th annual Taste of Bloomington Festival. More than 50 eateries will be serving up everything from Thai food to pizza and beer. Heather Meyer represents Mother Bears Pizza at the festival. She says it’s a fun time for vendors and families.
“It’s nice to serve our product but get out of the actual restaurant and be outside in the sunshine and get kind of a different customer base a different crowd to serve,” said Meyer. “We have a lot of kids we bring balloons out and hand out to all the kids and they enjoy that. And we constantly have a line so we’re busy but we’re having fun.”
In addition to food, there’s entertainment at the festival including local and national music acts. The festival is from 3-11 Saturday at the Showers Common Downtown. There is an admission fee and all food items are priced at $3 or less. A portion of the proceeds benefit the Hoosier Hills Food Bank and the Community Kitchen of Monroe County
