Former 8th District Congressman John Hostettler has said the intelligence presented to him during the lead up to the Iraq War served its purpose and led him to vote, along with just six other Republicans, against the entering the conflict. In the first two parts of WFIU’s series on that vote, Hostettler identified factors that led to war six years ago, including the Bush Administration’s preoccupation with Saddam Hussein, a national fervor to attack Iraq, and a Congress willing to cede its power to the President. In today’s final part, Hostettler tells Daniel Robison Jewish-Americans in the Pentagon helped drive the country toward war as a way to remove Hussein, a long-feared enemy of Israel.
