Special Prosecutor Takes Over In Martinsville School Case

KKK pamphlets have begun showing up on Martinsville doorstops, but officials say though they disagree with the process, it's likely not illegal.

A special prosecutor has been named to take over a State Police investigation into the misconduct of employees in the Martinsville School Corporation.

Morgan County Judge G. Thomas Gray named Johnson County Deputy Prosecutor Doug Cummins as special prosecutor in the case. Morgan County Prosecutor Steve Sonnega stated last week “it became clear that it was the appropriate time to make the request for a special prosecutor for the case”.

Special prosecutor Cummins will review the investigation when it is done to determine if charges will be filed.

Martinsville 2nd grade teacher and high school girls tennis coach Jeff McGown was placed on administrative leave last week pending an investigation. Former Martinsville High School boys basketball Coach Tim Wolf was charged with public indecency after being found half naked with a teenage girl at an Indianapolis park. Wolf retired in February.
