Motorists should turn around when approaching flooded roads.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service are predicting heavy rainfall over portions of southern and east central Indiana through tonight. The potential of another 2 inches of rain combined with rainfall over the weekend may lead to flooding of roads and other low lying areas.

Officials at the Indiana Department of Transportation report State Road 450 from U.S. 50 in Shoals is closed to State Road 37 in Bedford due to high water. Motorists should also use caution on State Road 66 in Perry County near Derby and Rocky Point as well as State Road 43 from Ridgeport to State Road 48.

A flood warning remains in effect for most of south central Indiana including Bartholomew, Brown, Greene, Jackson, Lawrence, Monroe and Shelby counties until 8 p.m. Tuesday.
