Kokomo Mayor Heading To Michigan To Discuss Auto Success

Kokomo Mayor Greg Goodnight will be a panelist for the Roads to Renewal automotive conference on March 30, in Dearborn, Michigan. Goodnight says he’ll discuss how the city of Kokomo has about $180 million of investment into the auto industry, but may also touch on where the industry is headed — specifically, hybrid and electric cars.

“The topic, per say, is going to be about us partnering with private investment, how the city partnered,” he says, “but it will probably expand into the products that are included in that investment.”

Goodnight says he and representatives from Delphi Electronics will likely discuss what the city and the company are doing to keep up with the ever-changing trends of the industry.

The conference will last two days, with various sessions featuring speakers from around the Midwest weighing in on the state of the automotive industry. The conference is being conducted by the nonprofit Center for Automotive Research.
