Gubernatorial Candidate John Gregg Kicks Off Statewide Bus Tour

Democratic gubernatorial candidate John Gregg kicked off the final week of the campaign with a statewide bus tour.

The tour began in his hometown of Sandborn. It will cover 54 stops in eight days. Gregg says, in addition to promoting his policy plans, the message of the tour is enthusiasm.

“We’re not overconfident but we’re enthused,” Gregg says.

At the stop in Bloomington, Gregg walked around IU’s Memorial Stadium ahead of the Hoosiers football game.

“Hey folks, how’s everybody doing?” Gregg asks.

Back on the bus, campaigning includes phone calls to supporters, made by Gregg and others, including Democratic Party chair John Zody, former U.S. Representative Baron Hill and Lieutenant Governor candidate Christina Hale. Hale says this is one of the first opportunities she and Gregg have had to campaign together.

“You can’t just keep broadcasting out messaging and social media, you’ve got to talk to people,” Hale says. “So I try to help him contact as many people on a really human level as I possibly can.”

More Democrats with Gregg on the tour include Evan Bayh, Senator Joe Donnelly and Superintendent Glenda Ritz.
