Bloomington residents were able to get a sneak peek inside the long awaited east side Fresh Thyme grocery store Wednesday. The College Mall location was originally slated for a Whole Foods 365.
The kickoff event featured a ribbon cutting ceremony, free food and live music.
Mark Doiron is the Chief Merchandising & Marketing Officer for Fresh Thyme. He says the event gave shoppers the chance to explore the unique options the store has to offer.
“What you’re going to find here is a real wide variety, although it’s a small store a friendly store, a very open shop, you’re going to find a lot of natural and organic items,” he says.
The store offers a range of items, from fresh produce and dry goods, to spirits and natural living products. Doiron says the store is geared toward “health seekers” who want to add healthy eating and living habits into their lifestyles.
“That’s the right kind of community for us and people come in and they realize they’ve already changed what’s in their cupboards,” he says.
The store officially opens Thursday at 7 a.m.
Fresh Thyme opened its first Bloomington location on the west side last year.
