Governor Mitch Daniels will deliver a speech on how Indiana wrestles with the job market and attempts to attract investors.

Governor Mitch Daniels is on his way to Los Angeles today. He‘s speaking at the 2012 Milken Institute Global Conference. Former President Bill Clinton, former Senator Evan Bayh (D-IN) and Filmmaker George Lucas are also among the featured speakers and presenters.

The conference brings together top world leaders and field experts to discuss and try to come up with solutions to world problems. Daniels says in this, his final year in office, he’s finally accepting an invitation to participate.

“I thought maybe after passing on it many times, I‘d go,” Daniels says. “I‘d probably learn more than anybody else in the room. There are some very wise people there. Scientists and leading business people and I hope to learn a few things.”

The Milken Institute was formed by former junk bond pioneer Michael Milken who spent almost two years in jail for securities violations but emerged with a social vision. The Governor is expected to return from the conference late Wednesday. Daniels will deliver a speech on how Indiana competes for jobs.
