Bloomington ‘Whole Foods 365’ Opening Date Uncertain

365 by Whole Foods has been under construction for months, and was expected to open this fall.

The Bloomington Whole Foods 365 store at College Mall is supposed to open on Aug. 1, but a Whole Foods representative now says the opening date is uncertain.

In an emailed statement, the representative said that there is no definitive opening date for the Bloomington location, and that when one becomes available it would be announced through their social channels.

This comes as Whole Foods is delaying the opening of 365 stores in other cities, including Houston, Texas and Toledo, Ohio.

In an emailed statement, Les Morris of Simon Malls said that Simon is continuing to work on the site and will have it ready to deliver to Whole Foods in a few weeks. Morris also said Simon cannot discuss opening dates for any tenants, although the Simon website still indicates an August opening.

Other grocers in Bloomington already face a competitive market, with the opening of Lucky’s Market in 2015 and Kroger expanding its organic offerings.
