Former Indiana University basketball stars Cody Zeller and Victor Oladipo are expected to be among the top draft prospects in tonight's NBA draft. Christian Watford is also an NBA hopeful.
Fans and IU coaches alike are anticipating Thursday's picks.
A tweet from Head Coach Tom Crean's Twitter account reads: "What an incredible day for our Indiana Program and Hoosier Nation. Our draft prospects tonight are Zero risk and Zero Maintenance people."
The three players are facing different situations going into tonight's draft. Here's a look at their prospects.
Victor Oladipo
The Cleveland Cavaliers have the top pick and many IU fans are hoping that pick is Oladipo, who left IU after his junior year to enter the draft.
Inside the Hall blog editor Alex Bozich says the draft is wide open this year, and may contain some last minute trades.
"The good news for Victor Oladipo is that he has been one of the guys who has separated himself from the pack in terms of where he could go, most projections have him in the top 5, a lot of people think he will go number 2 to Orlando," he says.
Oladipo has consistently had the highest stock out of the three Hoosiers.
Cody Zeller
Zeller's prospects have been less stable, but will still be prominent in tonight's draft. He has practiced with 10 different teams in preparation for the draft.
On his Twitter account, Zeller explained his hopes.
"People keep asking me who I want to be drafted by. Honestly, Purdue doesn't have a draft pick so I'll be happy with any of the other options," Zeller tweeted.
Christian Watford
Watford may not have as high of draft stock as his other two teammates, but he has put himself in a position to have chance in the NBA as well.
"He has worked out for a quite a few times that past 3-4 weeks," Bozich says. "He is a guy that has a chance to go late in the second round, but even if he does not get drafted, he has the chance to get picked up as an un-drafted free agent."
