Emma Kirkby Tours America

Dame Emma Kirkby, British soprano and early music icon, will be touring the United States in October and early November with lutenist Jakob Lindberg. It's been quite a few years since she toured America, which makes this visit all the more special.

Emma will be performing in New Haven, New York (twice), Cambridge, Columbia (MD), Washington D.C., Milwaukee, Overland Park (KS), Bethlehem (PA), and New Britain (CT).

A full schedule of tour dates, locations, times and programs can be found at the Schwalbe and Partners agency website.

A lovely feature article by David Patrick Stearns in the current Opera News gives us a glimpse into her musical insight from a singer's perspective.

Emma's recent accolades include an appointment as a Dame Commander of the British Empire and an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Music from Oxford University, her alma mater (a florid introductory speech described her as an "English nightingale, a tenth Muse").
