Simply Scandalous

This composer was commissioned to write a piece of music for the graduation ceremonies at a local university in his native Germany. This same university had given him an honorary doctorate degree the previous year, so this work also served as sort of a musical "thank you" note. The composer, however, had a very sly and somewhat controversial sense of humor. In this selection, he not only includes academic tunes from the university, but also snuck in several student drinking songs in the style of Franz Suppé. The composer conducted this piece at the university's graduation ceremony, much to the chagrin of the professors and the mischievous delight of the students in the audience.
