Organic Frozen Foods On The List Of Recent Recalls

organic by nature label

Put down those sweet peas, sweet pea. Costco Canada has issued its second recall in two weeks.

According to Food Safety News, Organic by Nature frozen peas have been pulled for possible listeria contamination.

This comes after the April 15 recall of Nature's Touch brand organic berry cherry blend. That product has been linked a Hepatits A outbreak, sickening at least 13 people.

CRF Frozen Food of Pasco, Washington also recalled 15 frozen vegetable products in 35 U.S. states and parts of Canada, after officials in Ohio detected Listeria monocytogenes in frozen pea and corn samples.

The recall includes varieties of peas, corn and mixed vegetables from Schwans, True Goodness by Meijer, and Wellsley Farms Organic brands. A full list of recalled products can be found here.

Due to the long shelf life of frozen organic foods, officials are encouraging consumers to check their frozen pea products.
