David Baker Birthday Tribute At Indianapolis’ Jazz Kitchen

The Buselli-Wallarab Jazz Orchestra and other artists will usher in Baker's milestone birthday with a black-tie performance.

Jazz educator, composer, and performer David Baker turns 80 on Wednesday, December 21, and several notable Indiana jazz acts will pay tribute with a black-tie event at Indianapolis’ Jazz Kitchen. The Buselli-Wallarab Jazz Orchestra will perform arrangements of Baker’s big-band music, with appearances as well from Monika Herzig (author of the new IU Press book David Baker: a Legacy in Music, the David Linard Trio and American Pianists Association’s Jazz Fellowship Awards finalist Zach Lapidus.
