Catholic Charities Bloomington

Catholic Charities provides counseling on a sliding fee scale, with the goal of removing all barriers to mental health services.

A lot of times stress can really impact you physically as well as emotionally, so for people to be able to access help to work through problems they’re having can make them happier and healthier, and will help them be a more productive member of society. –Laura Ingram, Staff Therapist at Catholic Charities Bloomington.

Catholic Charities Bloomington is dedicated to enhancing the availability of mental health services in Bloomington and surrounding areas. With this goal in mind, Catholic Charities provides counseling on a sliding fee scale, and also accepts medicaid and private insurance.  They also work to make their services accessible to people who do not have insurance.

Counseling services are provided to individuals, couples, and families in both Spanish and English. While the focus is on counseling, Catholic Charities can provide referrals to area psychiatrists.  Clients come to Catholic Charities looking for help dealing with a job loss, stress, family crisis, problems with their children or parents, and more.

In addition, Catholic Charities trains community organizations and other health professionals to work with difficult families, dealing with stress in the workplace, and youths with alcohol and drug issues, among others.
