Arts In Education Week

The U.S. House of Representatives has designated the second week of September as “Arts in Education Week.”

Back in July of this year, the U.S. House of Representatives designated the second week of September as “Arts in Education Week.”  So, this week we’ll explore some of the ways Arts Education is happening right here in Indiana.

On this program, we head back to the John Waldron Arts Center to see how their fall programs are shaping as the center settles in under the new direction of Ivy Tech Community College.

Then Yael Ksander visits Bloomington’s newly renovated Fairview Elementary to learn about the schools “Artful Learning” program.

And we’ll hear from conductor Leonard Slatkin as he prepares to take the podium with the IU Philharmonic in the ensembles first concert of the school year.
