9th Triennial USA International Harp Competition, DIY Hula Hoops

On this week’s show, Emily Levin performs excerpts from her competition repertoire, and a local group of hula hoopers demonstrate their hoopmaking skills.

One of the competitors performs with orchestra conducted by David Effron at the 2010 USA International Harp Competition.

The triennial USA International Harp Competition begins in Bloomington on Wednesday, July 10, 2013. On this week’s show, we’ll hear from the competition’s director Megan Landfair and recent Jacobs School alumna Emily Levin, who will be competing this year.

Also on the program, Annie Corrigan finds out how a local group of hula hoopers keep themselves busy… making their own hoops.
