Sex/Death: Ladies Night

Sex/Death is an annual production by the Bloomington Playwrights Project Dark Alley Series. It pushes the envelope by challenging the conventional boundaries of theater.

This year the BPP returns with a fresh new twist on an old theme. Sex/Death: Ladies Night puts the ladies in charge with the production acted and directed entirely by women. Diane Kondrat directs a talented female cast that tackles both male and female roles with a little cross-dressing gender-bending in five short plays. Jaddy Ciucci and Caty Natt are two of these actors who continue to stretch their own limits.

From A Possessive Italian Wife To A Replacement For FedEx

IU grad Jaddy Ciucci is a familiar figure on stages in the area. "I've been in Empty Sky with the Playwrights Project, Lend Me a Tenor the Brown County Playhouse and The Grapes of Wrath with the Cardinal Stage Company." Rachel Teagle's play, My Little Pony Express, is one of two that Ciucci appears in. "It's actually about a new/old delivery system – with ridiculously cute ponies."

From A Cannibal Slut To A Cleaning Lady

IU senior Caty Natt is also a veteran of local productions. "I was a cannibal slut (that role was a bit of a stretch!) for the BPP's Cannibal Sluts from Outer Space. I was also part of the cast that played and created The Invisible Man for the Theater of the People." Natt appears in a piece by Laurie Allen.

"It began as The Naked Woman, but now it's just called Naked. I play a cleaning woman who finds one of her clients – an attorney – naked at work. A very interesting conversation – with only a couple of cleaning tips! – results."
