Amplifier: Sleepy Sun - Balmorhea - Taj Mahal

Sleepy Sun Packs A Punch

Sleepy Sun is a California outfit with well-honed grandiose visions. They are a band that traverses the sonic spectrum, from loud distorted guitars to blissed-out acoustic atmospheres, pulsating rhythms and reverbed vocal melodies, from driving walls of sound to ambient moments of tranquility.

Their two two albums have not garnered quite as much attention as they deserve, but they continue to draw crowds across North America and Europe with their dominating brand of rock.

Balmorhea Has Something For Everyone

Balmorhea is one of the many bands emerging these days that defies conventional genres by successfully straddling the worlds of classical, pop, experimental, and rock to create a sound all their own. Sometimes ambient, sometimes melodic, always interesting, Balmorhea creates beautiful music with a compliment of guitars, piano, cello, violin, voice, double bass and percussion, as well as brief appearances of other instruments on their recordings. With something for all types of listeners, Balmorhea brings smart music that's still accessible to many.
