Kamikaze Comet 'Stars' In New Science Video

It is the first time scientists have been able to witness this spectacular phenomenon.

Thanks to NASA'S STEREO (Solar Terrestrial Relations Observatory) project, now astronomers (and the rest of the world!) can see what happens when comets take the plunge into the sun's fiery sphere.

These may look like suicidal comets, but of course their eventual demise was by no choice of their own. Researches believe that the strong gravitational pull from Jupiter was what threw the comets onto the path of destruction.
